Saw III
Saw III is a 2006 horror film directed by Darren Lynn Bousman from a screenplay by Leigh Whannell and a story by Whannell and James Wan. It is the third installment in the Saw film series and a sequel to 2005's Saw II, starring Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Angus Macfadyen, Bahar Soomekh, and Dina Meyer.

Kerry: I'm not so sure he did.
- Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Dina Meyer, Donnie Wahlberg and Lyriq Bent all reprise their roles from Saw II (2005).
- Before settling on the final version of the Classroom Trap, the creators and writers of Saw III (2006) went through a couple different versions of the game. One of them had Troy suspended above the floor of the classroom by large meat hooks. They decided against this, as they figured it would be basically impossible to escape, and that it would be more thrilling if he was standing and able to rip the chains out. A second version had the hooks going through his eyelids, his fingernails, and his teeth. This accounts for two of the promotional posters for the film, one showing a mouth missing numerous teeth, and another showing three teeth dangling from wires.
- The script and the deleted scenes verify that after their bloody conflict in the basement Amanda did not simply abandon Eric Matthews. Enraged from his insults she returned and killed him by stabbing him repeatedly. The producers mandated that Eric should not die and these scenes should be removed. The director strove for those scenes to appear in the final cut of the film, feeling that it would be a significant turning point for Amanda as she would start violating the rules imposed by Jigsaw. The producers however excised the death of Eric from the film in view to reinstating him in the upcoming 4th installment (which indeed happened). As it stands Eric's disposition is left ambiguous and the lines of Jigsaw explaining to Amanda that he cleaned up after her mess are left unresolved until the next film.
- Shawnee Smith and Bahar Soomekh are good friends in real life.
- Producer Oren Koules hates all the gory scenes in the Saw films and refuses to watch them.
