- Michelle Yeoh makes her second big-screen appearance since 2011's Kung Fu Panda 2. Producer on the film Ridley Scott originally wanted her for the role of Meredith Vickers in his directorial helm Prometheus.
- Morgan, in its opening weekend, couldn't even crack the weekend top ten after an estimated $615,000 on Friday from 2,020 theaters, heading toward a three-day around $1.8 million and a four-day weekend around $2.3 million. It's ended up being one of the worst openers of the summer and one of the worst openings for a film debuting in over 2,000 theaters. The film was subsequently pulled from theatres after 2 and a half weeks.
- Both Morgan's (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Lee's (Kate Mara) characters have names that can be given to either male or female children, indicating right from the beginning that Kate Mara's character is gender-less and therefore artificial as well.
- When Morgan is looking at Kate Mara's character through the window of her enclosure, you can see that their faces are symmetrical and exactly alike.
