Meet Dave is a 2008 American science fiction comedy film directed by Brian Robbins and written by Bill Corbett and Rob Greenberg. It stars Eddie Murphy in the title role, Elizabeth Banks, Gabrielle Union, Ed Helms, Scott Caan and Kevin Hart. The film was released on July 11, 2008, and grossed $50 million against a $60 million budget.

- Paul Scheer was originally cast as Lieutenant Buttocks but was replaced during filming after filming some of his scenes and recast as Lieutenant Kneecap. However, the majority of his role was deleted from the final cut.
- This film was originally set to be produced by Paramount Pictures with whom Eddie Murphy has had a long-time association.
- Co-writer Bill Corbett originally pitched this idea to SciFi.com as a possible web series.
