Jerry Cantrell
Jerry Fulton Cantrell Jr. (born March 18, 1966) is an American musician and singer-songwriter. He is best known as the founder, lead guitarist, co-lead vocalist, and main songwriter of rock band Alice in Chains. The band rose to international fame in the early 1990s during Seattle's grunge movement, and is known for its distinctive vocal style and the harmonized vocals between Cantrell and Layne Staley (and later Cantrell and William DuVall). Cantrell started to sing lead vocals on Alice in Chains' 1992 EP Sap. After Staley's death in 2002, Cantrell took the role of Alice in Chains' lead singer on most of the songs from the band's post-Staley albums, Black Gives Way to Blue (2009), The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here (2013) and Rainier Fog (2018), with DuVall harmonizing with him in the new songs and singing Staley's vocals in the old songs in live concerts.

- The new Alice in Chains album is now finished. The album is now called "Black Gives Way to Blue" and will be released on September 29th. [June 2009].
- (2002) Released 2nd solo album, Degradation trip.
- Working on his third solo album, which is the follow-up to 2002's "Degradation Trip". The album may not be released until late 2005 or early 2006.
- Alice in Chains reformed with the last known line-up, but the band has new official singer has been found this time as Layne Staley died.
- Working on follow-up to Degradation Trip Volumes 1 and 2. Working with Richard Patrick on new Filter cd due out 2004. Plays on a new track with Damageplan on the upcoming 'PUNISHER' soundtrack.
