Sasha Tran: Dude, you so did that on purpose.
Veronica: I thought it was just gonna be Mr. Kim. I had no idea Marcus was gonna be working with him.
Sasha Tran: The company is literally called, "Harry and Son."
  • Jenny Norris's debut.
  • In the end credits song "I Punched Keanu Reeves," Randall Park raps that he should join the Justice League and the Avengers. Due to his roles in Aquaman and Ant-Man and the Wasp/WandaVision he is in both the Justice League and Avengers film franchises.
  • The name of Marcus's band, Hello Peril, is a pun on and comic re-appropriation of the term "Yellow Peril," a phrase from the late 1800s that described a form of xenophobic bigotry held by white people against Asians, as well as the racist propaganda produced to stoke such fears in white people. In the United States, the fear of Asian immigrants was codified by such racist laws as the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act, a federal law that banned immigration of all Chinese laborers. During a June 2019 interview with Pitchfork, Randall Park acknowledged that the band's name is a play on this idea: "I wanted it to be an Asian-American band, and the name is a take on the historical term 'yellow peril,' which is basically the Western fear of the Far East taking over. The concept of yellow peril has repeated itself throughout history, and it felt like something Marcus would have named the band, because he's a community guy and he knows his history. Ali and I both have a background in Asian-American studies, but we didn't sit down and say, 'Let's have an Asian-American studies type of name for the band.' It naturally worked itself into the story."
  • The t-shirt Sasha wears to the eight-year-old's birthday party is from Comme des Garçon's Play, the designer's casual luxury line.
  • Keanu Reeves has Chinese and Hawaiian ancestry on his paternal side.
