Fido is a 2006 Canadian zombie comedy film directed by Andrew Currie and written by Robert Chomiak, Currie, and Dennis Heaton from an original story by Heaton. - Billy Connolly accepted the role of Fido in the weeks before filming since he was interested in the acting challenge of making the character compelling without any dialogue.
- Director Andrew Currie stated his thoughts about Carrie-Anne Moss as follows: "She's just so well-prepared and at the same time intuitive. What she brought to the role was such a sense of grace, timing, and beauty. Well, she brought just the right balance to the movie in all areas."
- The pregnancy subplot involving Carrie-Anne Moss' character Helen Robinson was only added because Moss was really pregnant during filming, and they added the pregnancy scenes to keep the continuity through the movie as she grew larger.
- Billy Connolly was reportedly very upset that the role required him to shave his beard. He described it as, "ripping out [his] fucking personality!"
- Timmy's bedroom contains curtains and a bedspread depicting action scenes from the zombie war.
