A Perfect Getaway
A Perfect Getaway is a 2009 American thriller film written and directed by David Twohy and starring Timothy Olyphant, Milla Jovovich, Kiele Sanchez, and Steve Zahn. Olyphant, Jovovich, Sanchez, and Zahn portray a group of vacationing couples in Hawaii who find their lives in danger when murders begin to occur on the island, leading to suspicions over one of the couples being the killers.

Cliff: I put away my shit like everyone else.
Nick: Well, when I board a plane, making my way back to the cheap seats, I clock every door. I pace off the distance between those exits and my seat. That plane loses power on takeoff, I can make egress in the dark, totally blind. If the aisle crowds up, I'm going to climb over the back on 36D, guy with that shiny-ass toupee, make the over the wing exit. And I know the handle swings down not up. And I know the door swings in not out. And I know all that inside of 30 seconds, before they even pop the cork for you up there in Hollywood class. See, if you wait till the emergency happens before you decide what to do, you're already dead.
Cydney: What chance do you have of that happening?
Nick: Happened in Sioux City.
Cydney: Sioux City?
Nick: DC-10. If rolled 4 times on landing. Wound up in an Iowa cornfield, 112 people dead.
Cydney: Yeah, I remember watching that on TV.
Nick: Yeah. I saw if from the inside.
Gina: He is really hard to kill.
- In the movie, at 00:16:14 and 00:30:14, Nick (Timothy Olyphant) makes a reference to Nicolas Cage. Olyphant previously worked with Cage on the set of Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000).
- When Nick (Timothy Olyphant) is talking to Cliff (Steve Zahn) about his past life events, he references a dictator's palace (00:30:35) that has a lock-box. In that box he has 'Avenger' memorabilia (00:31:49). The specific one he mentions is 'Iron Man' (00:31:48). Olyphant was considered for the role of Iron Man (2008). Subsequently, Kale (Chris Hemsworth) would later become 'Thor' in the adaption of the Marvel comics and again in The Avengers (2012) movie.
- In addition to working together on this film, Milla Jovovich and Timothy Olyphant have both worked on films that were adaptations of video games.
- Director David Twohy has been quoted in recent interviews as saying he had to battle with the studio to allow the movie to continue on with an R-rating instead of a PG-13 version.
