Grey's Anatomy
Grey's Anatomy is an American medical drama television series focusing on the personal and professional lives of surgical interns, residents, and attendings at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital, later named the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. The series premiered on March 27, 2005, on ABC as a mid-season replacement. The show's title is a reference to Gray's Anatomy, a classic human anatomy textbook. Writer Shonda Rhimes developed the pilot and served as showrunner, head writer, and executive producer until stepping down in 2015. Set in Seattle, Washington, the series is filmed primarily in Los Angeles, California, and Vancouver, British Columbia.

- Katherine Heigl dropped herself out of Emmy consideration in 2008, because she felt that she wasn't given the material that would warrant a nomination.
- The name of Joe's bar is actually "The Emerald City Bar."
- Many actors that have appeared in Grey's Anatomy (2005) have gone on to play roles in Scandal (2012), one of Shonda Rhimes' other shows. Actors include Scott Foley (Henry Burton), Kate Burton (Dr. Ellis Grey), Jeff Perry (Thatcher Grey), Robert Baker (Dr. Charles Percy) and Amanda Fuller (Dr. Morgan Peterson). Moreover, Kelly McCreary (Dr. Maggie Pierce) appeared in two episodes of Scandal (2012) before appearing in Grey's Anatomy (2005). Finally, Valerie Cruz guest appeared in both series.
- Sadie and Meredith referred to each other as Die and Death, which is a play on their names - saDIE and mereDEATH.
- Karev's full name is Alexander Michael Karev.
