Veep
Veep is an American political satire comedy television series that aired on HBO from April 22, 2012, to May 12, 2019. The series was created by Armando Iannucci. The protagonist of Veep is Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), a fictional Vice President of the United States. The series follows Meyer and her team as they attempt to make their mark and leave a legacy but often instead become mired in day-to-day political games.

- During the 2013 EMMY awards show, both Tony Hale and Julia Louis-Dreyfus won awards for their performances. When they stood on stage together, as Louis-Dreyfus was speaking, Hale pretended to feed her lines, just as he does on the show, playing her obsequious personal assistant.
- In preparation for the series, Armando Iannucci undertook extensive reading on American political history, including 'The Years of Lyndon Johnson' by Robert A. Caro.
- The President of the United States is never seen onscreen nor ever even mentioned by name until the third season finale, when his name (Stuart Hughes) is revealed, though he remains unseen.
