The Watch
The Watch (previously known as Neighborhood Watch) is a 2012 American science fiction action-comedy film directed by Akiva Schaffer and written by Jared Stern, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg. It stars Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, and Richard Ayoade. The film follows Evan (Stiller), Bob (Vaughn), Franklin (Hill), and Jamarcus (Ayoade), a group of neighbors who form a suburban neighborhood watch group. When they uncover an alien plot threatening the world, they are forced into action. This was the final film role of R. Lee Ermey, who died on April 15, 2018.

- Jared Stern wrote the screen story in 2008 with a teen audience in mind. The writing duo of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg were later brought in to convert the story to an R-rated script.
- At the beginning, in the narration Evan provides about his life, a quick scene shows him re-positioning the Costco floor grate, foreshadowing the final battle.
- Thomas Lennon auditioned for the role of Paul.
- Akiva Schaffer: During the orgy scene, with Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone, his teammates from The Lonely Island.
- The patch on the right sleeve of Franklin's Army jacket is from MACV-SOG (Military Assistance Command Vietnam-Studies and Observation Group), an Army Special Forces unit that specialized in secret, behind-enemy-lines operations in North Vietnam and Laos.
