Son of the Beach
Son of the Beach is an American sitcom that aired from March 14, 2000, to October 1, 2002, on FX. The series is a spoof of Baywatch, with much of the comedy based on sexual double entendres, puns, innuendo and the like. A major running gag portrayed the handsome David Hasselhoff character as a balding, middle-aged, pot-bellied and out-of-shape man who is nonetheless seen by all the other characters as highly fit and attractive. Radio talk show host Howard Stern was one of the executive producers.

- The show was canceled unexpectedly after the 3rd season due to a management change at FX Networks. According to Howard Stern, the show was the #1 show on FX at the time, but a new program director decided to pull the show without warning.
- Because of Jaime Bergman's pregnancy during the third season, FX wanted another thin woman to play a lifeguard in order to keep male viewers. Amy Weber was hired. But Lisa Banes was fired.
- Jaime Bergman's pregnancy was written into the storyline.
- Despite the show being a parody of Baywatch (1989), former "Baywatch" cast member Angelica Bridges guest-starred in two episodes: "From Russia, With Johnson" (2.2) and "The Gay Team" (3.6).
