Nanny McPhee Returns
Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (released in the United States and Canada as Nanny McPhee Returns) is a 2010 period fantasy comedy film directed by Susanna White, produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Lindsay Doran with music by James Newton Howard and co-produced by StudioCanal, Relativity Media, Working Title Films and Three Strange Angels. It is a sequel to the 2005 film Nanny McPhee. It was written by Emma Thompson, based on Christianna Brand's Nurse Matilda books. Thompson reprises her role as Nanny McPhee, and the film also stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, Ralph Fiennes, Rhys Ifans, Ewan McGregor, Asa Butterfield and Maggie Smith. The film was theatrically released on 20 August 2010 by Universal Pictures.

- Susanna White wanted to make the film as she loved the depiction of Mrs Green as a modern independent woman despite the movie being set during World War 2.
- Mrs. Docherty is addressed by her husband as "Aggy", that is Agatha Brown, the Baby from the first Nanny McPhee (2005) film. Apart from Nanny McPhee, she is the only character from the first film who appears.
- Ralph Fiennes's cameo was shot in two days. As indeed was Ewan McGregor's.
- Emma Thompson was writing the script, as early as March 2007.
- One of the problems with filming the scene with the piglets running away from the children, was that the little pigs really enjoyed being caught and cuddled so were very disinclined to run away.
