Midrash (; Hebrew: מִדְרָשׁ‎; pl. Hebrew: מִדְרָשִׁיםmidrashim) is biblical exegesis by ancient Judaic authorities, using a mode of interpretation prominent in the Talmud. The word itself means "textual interpretation", "study".
