A good actor must be able to play roles. If he tries to live that roles he does not trust his own talent.
  • In 1965 he recorded a single, with the help from the german composer Martin Boettcher (published by DECCA 1965). The songs are: "Maedchen in Samt und Seide" ("Girl in silk and velvet") and "Ich bin morgen auf dem Weg zu dir (I`ll be on the way to you tomorrow") Both songs are in german. Later he recorded two songs more. But that songs are not published as he wished.
  • He loved horses and dogs.
  • A member of an extremely prominent family in New York society, Barker was effectively disowned by his family upon his decision to become an actor.
