Trivia (6) 1. She was one of the children hired to augment the children's singing voices in The Sound of Music (1965). 2. In 1982, her two-year-old son had a blood transfusion during an operation. The blood was tainted with HIV and he died six months later. However, Cedars-Sinai doctors initially said he died from a genetic immune deficiency. Years later the hospital lost a lawsuit and had to send out letters to parents of children (Darleen included) admitting they may have died of AIDS. 3. Younger sister of Charmian Carr and Shannon Farnon. 4. Daughter of actress Rita Oehmen and composer Brian Farnon. 5. Niece of Dennis Farnon and Robert Farnon. 6. Born on the same day as Duane Chase who co-starred with Darleen's sister Charmian Carr in The Sound of Music (1965).
