Quotes
Don't let fear trick you into thinking life is anything but beautiful. Be brave and get hurt and get back up and find the guts to be brave again.
Live by the harmless untruths that make you brave and kind and healthy and happy.
One day I'm going to move to New York.
Before the X Factor, I didn't really sing in front of people. I was like trapped in my room like a little hermit crab.
This is the thing with TV shows-I can't watch them because I have no self-control. I'll get addicted to them and I won't sleep. I will become a zombie. I had Netflix one time, and I watched Gossip Girl for 24 hours straight!
All I do is sing karaoke and watch One Direction videos.
You can take my life, you can take my home, you can everything, just please not my friend plantains.
No, I don't! I don't fart! Well... everybody farts.
The TCAs day is so surreal. Seeing literally everyone I'm obsessed with on the carpet and being a couple feet away from them and acting as if I weren't having heart palpitations was just insane.
My must-have tour essentials are headphones, a book, and cold turkey. I LOVE cold turkey!
I take long showers, but I don't sing. I just stare off into the universe.
I am a daughter to a Cuban mother and a Mexican father. I remember being on the bus to go to my new home with my "Winnie the Pooh" journal, thinking I was going to Disney World. I was born in a country where the roads are almost as broken as the hope of the people. We left them with only the clothes on our backs to come to a land where we only knew the word 'yes' and 'no.' We built a new life from the ground up in hopes of getting opportunities to be the people we couldn't be in our own country. My mom went to night to learn English. I didn't speak any English when I came to Miami. I learned it through TV and cartoons. On my first of school, they asked me if I knew how to speak English. I don't know if I misunderstood or was too embarrassed, but I said, 'Yeah, I speak English.' So I never actually took an ELL class, but I picked up English really easily. Today I got to hug and thank Barack Obama with tears in my eyes for everything he does in supporting immigration. I am a Cuban, Mexican, proud American citizen. I look behind me and I see my family - and the families to come - wiping the sweat off our brows, looking up, and thanking God that we made the choice to come here.
[My mom's] taught me that no matter where you come from, if you work hard and are good to people, life will be good to you, too.
[M magazine-Stars' confidence tips] You just need to say, "I look good right now!" Then it'll start to reflect on how you feel.
You know what i mean?
If you don't want to piss people off, be a vegetable. Dance like an idiot at parties, laugh like a walrus at serious meetings, sing pop songs at the top of your lungs in front of your indie friends, wear red socks when the dress code is black and white. The point isn't rebellion, the point is expression. The point is the world would be a much better place if we were taught to be fascinated by our differences instead of fearing them, if we were taught to explore individuality instead of controlling it. If we were taught that even if we disagree with somebody's way of expression, we have no authority to ever tell somebody they can't be who they are. Free yourself, or let us be free.
Feel everything, that is the difference between living and existing.
No matter how old you get, crying in your mom's arms will always make you feel three years old.
Kisses are the best form of communication. It is your chance to say everything words can't express. when you feel weak and fragile and you've given them so much of your heart they could break it at any second, say it.. kiss slowly, kiss softly, fingers running through their spine, face between hands. When you feel like you're on fire, like no matter how close you are to each other you'll never be close enough, say it. Hands running through hair, whispers in between, desperate kisses, laughter in their mouth. I'm all for words, but, trust me, kisses are better than poetry.

She rose to prominence as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, which was formed on the second season of the American edition of The X Factor in 2012, and thereafter signed to a joint record deal with Syco Music and Epic Records for their music releases.
While a part of Fifth Harmony, Cabello began to establish herself as a solo artist with the release of several collaborations, including "I Know What You Did Last Summer" with Shawn Mendes and "Bad Things" with Machine Gun Kelly, the latter reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States. After leaving the group in December 2016, Cabello released her debut solo single "Crying in the Club" to a modest commercial performance. Refocusing her sound to Latin-influenced music thereafter, her eponymous debut studio album Camila (2018) debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, with its lead single "Havana" topping the charts in several countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States. The second single "Never Be the Same" also reached the top 10 in several countries.
Early life Cabello was born in Cojimar, Eastern Havana, Cuba, to Sinuhe Estrabao and Alejandro Cabello. Her father was born in Mexico City and is a Mexican who moved to Cuba. For most of her early life, Cabello and her family moved back and forth between Havana and Mexico City, before relocating to Miami, Florida, in the United States when Cabello was aged five. Cabello acquired American citizenship in 2008. She attended Miami Palmetto High School but left in the 2012–2013 school year, while she was in 9th grade, to pursue her singing career. She later earned her high school diploma.
CareerCamila Cabello auditioned for The X Factor in Greensboro, North Carolina with Aretha Franklin's "Respect", however, her audition was not aired because the series did not get the rights for the song. After elimination during the "bootcamp" portion of the process in Miami, Florida, Cabello was called back to the stage along with other contestants Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Dinah Jane to form the girl group that would later become known as Fifth Harmony. After finishing in third place on the show they signed a joint deal with Syco Music, owned by Simon Cowell, and Epic Records, L.A. Reid's record label.
The group released the EP Better Together (2013) along with the studio albums Reflection (2015) and 7/27 (2016). The latter two generated the singles "Worth It" and "Work from Home", respectively, which reached the top 10 in several international charts. From 2013 through the end of 2016, Cabello performed in various Fifth Harmony tours.
On December 18, 2016, the group announced Cabello's departure, with both parts explaining contradictory circumstances of the exit. She appeared in a previously taped performance with the group on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. Her first solo single "Crying in the Club" was released on May 19, 2017, followed by a performance at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards. The single peaked at number 47 in the United States. She joined Bruno Mars' 24K Magic World Tour as an opening act for several of its dates, and also partnered with clothing brand Guess as the face for their 2017 Fall campaign.
New writing and recording sessions for her album were influenced by the success of her single "Havana", which postponed its original release date. Upon its release, the single reached number one in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Hungary and the United States. It also spent seven weeks atop the US Mainstream Top 40 airplay chart. The song became Spotify's most-streamed song ever by a solo female artist in June 2018 (over 888 million streams). The album was eventually certified platinum in the country. "Never Be the Same" was released as the second single, later becoming her third top 10 entry on the Hot 100. "Havana" and "Never Be the Same" made Cabello the first artist to top the Mainstream Top 40 and Adult Top 40 airplay charts with the first two singles from a debut studio album.
