- The design for Chester's mask was inspired by three different masks: Leatherface from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974); The Phantom from Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'The Phantom of the Opera', and the real life serial sex attacker Edward Paisnel AKA 'The Beast of Jersey'.
- The real life asylum location that the crew filmed in was supposedly haunted and subject to severe poltergeist activity, with UK TV series Most Haunted (2002) regularly holding seance events at the location.
- All of the cast and crew stayed on location at the remote real-life asylum location, with no internet or cell phone coverage, which most claim brought the team together quicker than on most normal productions.
- Gene Fallaize: director of Hollywood movie version of 'Cain Hill'.
- The daughter of the character 'Richard', which he shows to 'Mary' on his phone during the bar scene is Producer Tony Cook niece Caitlyn Cook
