Brightburn
Brightburn is a 2019 American superhero horror film directed by David Yarovesky, written by Brian and Mark Gunn, and produced by James Gunn and Kenneth Huang. Starring Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, Jackson A. Dunn, Matt Jones and Meredith Hagner. The plot follows Brandon Breyer, a young boy of extraterrestrial origin reared on Earth who discovers he has superpowers, using them with dark intentions. The film was produced and financed by Screen Gems, Stage 6 Films, The H Collective and Troll Court Entertainment.

- Brandon Breyer's name follows the classic comic-book convention of superheroes with alliterative first and last names, such as Clark Kent, Peter Parker, Bruce Banner, etc.
- Brandon's character shares his first name with one of the Superman actors, Brandon Routh.
- At around 14:30, when the family are at Darba's Family Grill celebrating Brandon's birthday, it is clearly a shuttered Hardee's based on the outside facade.
- Steve Agee, Michael Rooker, Stephen Blackehart and Terence Rosemore appeared as Ravagers in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017).
- Jackson A. Dunn (Brandon Breyer) also appears in another comic book based film released in 2019, Avengers: Endgame (2019). In that film he played a younger version of Scott Lang/Ant-Man, when Scott gets time pushed through him causing him to change into different ages.
