Obélix: These new Romans are better. They fly better.
Astérix: Yes, their helmets are more aerodynamic.
  • At the end of the movie the character Otis creates some sort of an elevator in the palace Numerobis built. In real life, Otis is a name of an elevator company.
  • Wordplay is common in this movie. At Numérobis' "I am, my dear friend, very happy to see you" Panoramix replies "C'est un Alexandrin" (It's an Alexandrian) meaning both Numérobis' hometown (Alexandria, Egypt) and the French twelve syllable poetic verse (alexandrine).
  • After filming, costumes worn by main characters were sold at a charity auction for a child protection organization (Enfance et Partage).
  • As Asterix and Obelix talk about the Lighthouse of Alexandria and a barracuda on the boat, they are quoting a song from Claude François, Alexandri Alexandra.
  • Some of the hieroglyphics in the movie can be traduced this way: 'If you can read this, you are an aegyptologist'.
