Arbitrage is a 2012 American crime drama film directed by Nicholas Jarecki, and starring Richard Gere, Nate Parker, Susan Sarandon, Tim Roth and Brit Marling. Filming began in April 2011 in New York City. It opened in U.S. theaters in September 2012.

Robert Miller: I'm a child of the '50s. My father welded steel for the Navy, and my mother worked at the V.A. They lived through the Depression, Pearl Harbor, and the bomb. They didn't think that bad things might happen. They knew that bad things would happen.

Robert Miller: When I was a kid, my favorite teacher was Mr. James. Mr. James said world events all revolve around five things. M - O - N - E - Y.
  • Eva Green was originally cast as Julie but dropped out to a scheduling conflict with Dark Shadows (2012). Laetitia Casta was cast in her place.
  • Nate Parker replaced Drake shortly before filming commenced.
  • Richard Gere replaced Al Pacino.
  • The name of given to the Judge in Arbitrage, Judge Rittenband, is the name of the actual Judge who sat on a number of high profile Celebrity court cases , including the Roman Polanski trial in the late Seventies.
  • Brit Marling, who plays Robert Miller's daughter and Chief Investment Officer, has direct experience of the finance world from a summer internship she once undertook at Goldman Sachs Investment Bank.
