America: The Motion Picture is a 2021 American comedy film directed by Matt Thompson and written by Dave Callaham, who both also produce. It stars Channing Tatum (also a producer), Jason Mantzoukas, Olivia Munn, Bobby Moynihan, Judy Greer, Will Forte, Raoul Max Trujillo, Killer Mike, Simon Pegg and Andy Samberg. It is an R-rated, animated parody of George Washington and his fight against the British. The film uses anachronism, ahistoricism, and Americentrism to create a comic effect. Dates, the roles of various historical figures, battles, notable inventions and technologies are changed, reinvented or outright created. Prominent events and figures from the American Revolutionary War period and American history through to the 20th century are moved into the film's 1776 setting.

George Washington: Ding dong, its America motherfucker.
Benedict Arnold: Georgie. Well, color me surprised.
George Washington: Oh I'll color you fucking dead Ben!
Benedict Arnold: Bravo. Did you practice that line in the car on your way here?
George Washington: What the fuck is a car? And no, it was a rebuttal to something you just said! How can I have thought it in advance if you said it just now, and I came up with the perfect fucking rebuttal!
Benedict Arnold: Oh pardon me. I forgot that you aren't versed in the gentlemanly art of debate like your best friend Abe Lincoln. Oh, or should I say ex best friend. Because he's dead.
George Washington: Damn he's good.
  • During Abe's funeral service, among the attendees are Presidents John Adams, John Quincy Adams (as a baby), Ulysses S. Grant, Andrew Jackson, John F. Kennedy, Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin D. Roosevelt; along with Mary Todd Lincoln, Abigail Adams, Alexander Hamilton (As Lin Manuel Miranda), Martin Luther King Jr., Marilyn Monroe, I.M. Pei, Harriet Tubman, F. Scott Fitzgerald and, barely visible, John Rambo.
  • At 36:20, Samuel Adams makes reference to John Wick. [link=nm172762}, who voices Samuel Adams, starred in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019).
  • The sledgehammer that the Blacksmith uses has the words "Property of John Henry" engraved on the side. John Henry is an American folk hero, known for winning a rock chiseling race against a steam-powered rock drilling machine. After his victory he died from exhaustion with the hammer in his hand. The Blacksmith is loosely based on him.
  • The 4th animated project in which Will Forte plays Abraham Lincoln, after Clone High (2002), The Lego Movie (2014) and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (2019).
  • At the end sequence, the small elderly lady who attacks a gay couple is based on Carrie Nation, a radical member of the temperance movement and a religious zealot during the Prohibition Era, who attacked alcohol-serving establishments.
