- On 2nd April, 2015, a day after it was made public that this movie would be released, Will Ferrell declared his disappointment that the "top secret project" became public. He said that he and Wiig decided to forego the project altogether indicating that it wouldn't be released.

- Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig secretly made this movie. It was a surprise to many people when the announcement of the movie was leaked to the press.
- When the Hollywood Reporter broke the news of this secretly filmed movie on 1st April, 2015, they had to point out that this announcement wasn't an April Fool's joke, since it was considered to be highly unusual for comedic actors Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig to appear in a movie for the Lifetime channel, known for their female-oriented program.
