  • In the scene where Van Wilder is talking to the basketball team he is seen wearing a hat with the Volkswagen logo on the front. Which is a V above a W - Van Wilder's initials.
  • Charlie Talbert:  the interviewee who plays with his stomach. He is seen wearing a T-shirt with thee words "Who's your daddy?" - in 2004 he plays the role of Adam in a movie with the same name, _Who's Your Daddy? (2004)_.
  • The poem that the Literature professor reads for Van's final is Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken".
  • Ryan Reynolds only saw a rough cut of the film before it came out. He hasn't seen the film since.
  • Michael Olowokandi, Darius Miles, Quentin Richardson, and Lamar Odom, who were all players on Coolidge's basketball team, were real life teammates at the time in the NBA on the Los Angeles Clippers.
