The Flaming Lips are an American rock band formed in 1983 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The band consists of Wayne Coyne (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Michael Ivins (bass), Steven Drozd (guitars, keyboards), Derek Brown (guitars, keyboards), Jake Ingalls (keyboards, guitars), Matt Duckworth Kirksey (drums) and Nick Ley (percussion).
