The Crown
The Crown is a historical drama television series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, created and principally written by Peter Morgan and produced by Left Bank Pictures and Sony Pictures Television for Netflix. Morgan developed the series from his film The Queen (2006) and his stage play The Audience (2013), which also focused on Elizabeth.

- "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" and "The Theory of Everything" actress, Felicity Jones participated in an early reading of The Crown back in 2014 as Queen Elizabeth II, a role which was eventually given to Claire Foy.
- Wallis Simpson was not present in the room during Edward VIII's abdication radio broadcast, contrary to how it is portrayed here.
- Leading lady Claire Foy had to cope with breast-feeding her newborn infant and playing the Queen in this production.
