Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist
Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist is a 2008 American romantic comedy-drama film directed by Peter Sollett and starring Michael Cera, Kat Dennings, Alexis Dziena, Ari Graynor, Aaron Yoo and Jay Baruchel. Written by Lorene Scafaria and based on the novel of the same name by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan, the story tells of teenagers Nick (Cera) and Norah (Dennings), who meet when Norah asks Nick to pretend to be her boyfriend for five minutes. Over the course of the night, they try to find their favorite band's secret show and search for Norah's drunken best friend.

Nick: You don't have to yell. It's not a train station. We're in a tiny car.
- The film originally opened at The Jerkoffs show where Norah first meets Nick. All prior scenes (including Nick leaving a voicemail on Tris' phone, the scenes with Norah, Caroline, and Tris at the Catholic school, etc.) were re-shoots filmed six months after principal production was wrapped.
- The title character's names are a reference to Nick & Nora Charles, the characters in the 'Thin Man' series of films based on William Dashiel Hammett's book.
- Ari Graynor (Caroline) improvised her whole speech at the Port Authority when Kevin Corrigan decided he wouldn't say a word during his scene.
- Nick's cellphone ring tone is "Boys Don't Cry" by The Cure. (The lyrics tell the story of a man who has given up trying to regain the love of a girl that he has lost, and tries to disguise his true emotional state by "laughing, hiding the tears in (his) eyes, 'cause boys don't cry".)
- Both Michael Cera and Jonathan B. Wright worked on Youth in Revolt (2009). During production of Nick and Norah, they rehearsed a confrontational scene between their Youth In Revolt characters.
