Highland Clearances
The Highland Clearances (Scottish Gaelic: Fuadaichean nan Gàidheal the "eviction of the Gaels") were the evictions of a significant number of tenants in the Scottish Highlands and Islands, mostly in two phases from 1750 to 1860.
