Halyna Anatoliivna Hutchins (Ukrainian: Галина Анатоліївна Хатчінс; née Androsovych, Ukrainian: Андросович, April 10, 1979 – October 21, 2021) was a Ukrainian cinematographer. She worked on more than 30 feature-length films, short films, and TV miniseries, including the films Archenemy, Darlin', and Blindfire. On October 21, 2021, she was accidentally shot by actor Alec Baldwin using a prop gun that was not properly checked during production on the set of the film Rust. The incident resulted in her death.

  • The Halyna Hutchins Memorial Scholarship Fund was launched within days after her death to provide financial support to female cinematographers.
  • Soon after her death, actors like Julianne Moore, Dwayne Johnson, Olivia Wilde, Anna Paquin, Ava DuVernay, Ariana DeBose, Elijah Wood, and Lena Dunham signed an online petition called ‘Halyna’s Law’ that would help lobby for a ban on the use of real guns on television and film sets.
