Dante's Peak
Dante's Peak is a 1997 American dramatic disaster thriller film directed by Roger Donaldson. Starring Pierce Brosnan, Linda Hamilton, Charles Hallahan, Elizabeth Hoffman, Jamie Renée Smith, Jeremy Foley, and Grant Heslov. The movie was set in the fictional town of Dante's Peak wherein the town must survive the volcano's eruption and its dangers. It was released in February 7, 1997 under the production of Universal Pictures and Pacific Western.

- The "volcanic ash" was really fine newspaper shavings.
- Most of the film`s exteriors were shot in Wallace, Idaho, and Dante`s Peak and surrounding scenery were then digitally added.
- A great many special effects in the movie were practical special effects, using real-world models or full-size properties and vehicles.
- All crater scenes were shot at Mt St Helens
- The dogs that played Roughy were wolf hybrids (part wolf and part Airedale Terrier).
