Zoolander
Zoolander is a 2001 American comedy film directed by and starring Ben Stiller. The film contains elements from a pair of short films directed by Russell Bates and written by Drake Sather and Stiller for the VH1 Fashion Awards television specials in 1996 and 1997. It is the last film from Paramount Pictures with the involvement of Village Roadshow Pictures.

- Bret Easton Ellis, author of the 1998 book Glamorama, about a dimwitted male model who finds himself embroiled in a terrorist ring with roots in the fashion industry, sued Ben Stiller following the release of Zoolander (2001), citing copyright infringement. The case was later settled out of court.
- When Derek and Hansel disguise themselves and sneak into Maury's office, Hansel's jumpsuit has a name tag on which is printed the name "Kumar". This refers to Kumar Pallana, who has appeared in all of Wes Anderson's films (Bottle Rocket (1996), Rushmore (1998), and The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)).
