Transformers: Age of Extinction
Transformers is a series of American science fiction action films based on the Transformers franchise which began in the 1980s. Michael Bay has directed the first five films: Transformers (2007), Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Dark of the Moon (2011), Age of Extinction (2014) and The Last Knight (2017). A spin-off film, Bumblebee, directed by Travis Knight and produced by Bay, was released on December 21, 2018. The series has been distributed by Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks. The Transformers series has received negative to mixed reception, except for Bumblebee which received positive reviews. It is the 13th-highest-grossing film series, with a total of $4.3 billion; two films in the series have grossed over $1 billion each.

- The two main villains, Lockdown and Galvatron, never meet face to face.
- This is the first of Michael Bay's Transformers movies in which none of Autobots are killed during the battle scenes. Only Ratchet is killed early on when being hunted by the humans and Leadfoot is discovered to have died before the beginning of the film's story.
- Originally, a raptor-like Dinobot named Slash was to appear in the film, but he was cut from the finished script. However, toys of him were still released and he appeared in promotional material.
- 70 minutes of the movie are dedicated to action sequences.
- Through the miracle of film editing, early in the film Mark Wahlburg arrives in front of a store bearing the name Kincl, this store and the other buildings on the same side of the street are located on 2nd street in Taylor, Tx. Wahlburg walks across the street to the abandoned Uptown Theater which is located in Chicago, IL.
