- Tessa Thompson filmed an advert, whilst in character as King Valkyrie, for the UK promoting the Direct Line insurance company. Interestingly this 60 second cinema and television commercial had very little Marvel Inc involvement beyond giving their approval for both the script and the final cut. The actual advertising campaign was entirely financed by Direct line but part of the licensing deal with Marvel was that it would make mention of the Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) film as well (thus Marvel also received free advertising out of the deal). Made only for the UK market and was shot by commercial specialist director Bryan Buckley in February 2022, it was filmed in Lisbon, Portugal (doubling for Brighton in Sussex) and released a couple of weeks before the movie was theatrically released. The costume Valkyrie wears in the advert is an original costume from the movie and loaned to the production by Marvel.
- Wakanda's goddess, Bast and Talokan's god, K'uk'ulkan are both sitting in front of Thor and friends.
- This is just the fourth Marvel movie to have a female title character. The others are Black Widow, Captain Marvel, and Ant Man and the Wasp.
- This film marks the second collaboration between Matt Damon and Christian Bale since Ford v Ferrari (2019), albeit with secondary roles.
- In the comics (Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic's God Butcher saga), Gorr was so powerful that it took three versions of Thor and several rounds to bring him down. Young, present-day, and old (King Thor) all teamed up and utilized two Mjolnirs, one other very large hammer, and King Thor summoning the Thor-Force (formerly the Odin-Force). Right before dying, Gorr gets into present-day Thor's head, causing him to lose faith in himself, resulting in him becoming unworthy to wield Mjolnir (which allowed Jane Foster to take over as the hammer's user).
