Blackguard: [looks at Weasel] Is this thing a dog? Captain Boomerang: A dog? What kind of dog do you think it is, mate? T.D.K.: I'm gonna go with Afghan hound! Harley Quinn: Oh my god, you're a werewolf? Blackguard: YOU STUCK ME NEXT TO A WEREWOLF? YO MAN LET ME OUT! [struggles to get free] Rick Flag: Hey, hey! He's not a werewolf, he's a weasel! He's harmless! I mean, he's not harmless, he's killed 27 children, but, you know...
  • Lloyd Kaufman's cameo in the film doubles as a subversive reference to his film debut in Rocky (1976). In that film, he briefly appears as a drunken bar patron who is helped by Sylvester Stallone's character, Rocky Balboa. In this film, he once again plays a drunken bar patron, but in an ironic twist, Stallone's character, Nanaue/King Shark, is shown to have been waiting outside the bar, never encountering Kaufman.
  • Shane Mahan revealed the colorful, glowing Polka-Dot Man appliances worn by actor David Dastmalchian were an exciting assignment for the Legacy team. "I took it as a personal challenge because there was brief talk that James would not like this to be a CGI effect unless it can't work. And I was like, I'm going to make that work because it's new. We've never seen anything like this before." He continues, "I was determined to figure out how to make a bulbous internal, glowing skin, that's a wearable piece that can be activated and emote something." Shane says the Legacy team were tirelessly experimenting with internal batteries and wires and diffusion and colors. "We had tablefuls of experiments, of bulbs running all weekend, seeing timing, like how long the batteries last and so on." In the end, Shane reveals that "It was a very sophisticated little panel of lights that were actually able to dim on or off and change colors. But in the film, they just always stay on, but you could have gone from white to red, they could have changed." He says there was, "A series of wires that ran down [David Dastmalchian's] back to an intricate little computer, conveniently located in a backpack that he wore that Judianna provided for us." The complex unit would also allow for the lights' color temperatures to be adjusted for the director of photography, Henry Braham.
  • This is the first Suicide Squad movie to receive an R rating from the MPAA, since the original movie received a PG-13 rating.
  • The brief 8-minute flashback scene detailing the events of half of the squad on the top floor of Jotenheim before the confrontation between Bloodsport and Peacemaker was exactly 8 minutes long (from the start of the flashback to the present).
  • The exterior shots of the Squads insertion/extraction aircraft is a Marine Corps V-22 Osprey (VTOL). The interior shots are actually an Army CH-47D Chinook helicopter.
