Morgan: WHY are you using the turn signal? You're literally telling them where we're going.
  • A prop early in the film is prominently branded "Earnest", while a contact sought is named "Vern". This is seemingly a shout-out to Jim Varney's series featuring Ernest P. Worrell.
  • Red Sparrow (2018) shot footage in the same Budapest café that was used in "The Spy Who Dumped Me." After "Red Sparrow" finished filming, director Susanna Fogel said that there were plans to tear down the café in order to renovate the building, but they offered to let "The Spy Who Dumped Me" destroy it first.
  • Growing up, Kate McKinnon was a very big fan of The X-Files (1993) starring Gillian Anderson. McKinnon found Anderson to be "professional and lovely" once they had worked together.
  • Sam Heughan is one of the main stars in Outlander (2014), while James Fleet had a recurring role in that series.
  • Sam Heughan's character suffers an arm injury in this movie, as a result of which he has to wear a sling. In Outlander, the show Sam is famously the lead, he also suffers a similar injury with similar outcome. In both cases, the arm injury is used as an excuse for his character to warm up to the female leads; allowing them to help him out.
