On July 8, 2009, they had their first child, William Wolf Howey. Shahi gave birth during an at-home water birth. They welcomed their twins, daughter Violet Moon and son Knox Blue, on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at home in Los Angeles. They divorced in 2020.
