Oliver Bierhoff (born 1 May 1968) is a retired German former footballer who played as a striker and today national team director of the German Football Association. He scored the first golden goal in the history of major international football, for Germany in the Euro 96 final, a career-defining performance that vaulted him into the international limelight.
