Linda Purl (born September 2, 1955) is an American actress and singer, known for her roles as Ashley Pfister on Happy Days, Sheila Munroe in the 1982 horror film Visiting Hours, Pam Beesly's mother Helene in The Office, and Ben Matlock's daughter Charlene Matlock for the first season of the television series Matlock.

  • She is a regular performer (and part of the original cast) of the touring play Seven Deadly Sins Four Deadly Sinners. Sept. 12, 2008 Linda Purl opened at the Cleveland Playhouse in Cleveland, Ohio in the production, The Glass Menagerie, by Tennessee Williams, playing Amanda, the mother of the main characters.

During the 1974-75 season of Happy Days, she was seen as Richie Cunningham`s (Ron Howard) high-school girlfriend Gloria; she returned to the series in 1982 as Ashler Pfister, a divorced mother with whom Fonzie (Henry Winkler) was briefly involved romantically
