Declan: I don't want not to make plans with you. I want to make plans with you.
Anna: You do?
Declan: Yeah I do.
  • On a movie concerned about special dates (since Amy Adams character wants to propose to her fiancĂ© on February 29) comes the coincidence that both actors who play Amy's love interests in the film Adam Scott and Matthew Goode were born on April 3.
  • Matthew Goode later went on record saying that he reckoned that the film was one of the year's worst. He admitted that he took the role because it allowed him to fly home back to London on weekends.
  • One of the attractions of making the film for Matthew Goode was the chance to work with Anand Tucker, having enjoyed his work on Hilary and Jackie (1998).
  • The Declan's bar where Anna (Amy Adams) arrives is called "Caragh". It is a Gaelic word that translated means "Beloved".
  • The number listed for Anna's social security on her apartment application is 987-6543-20.
