The two met at the a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards. After one date, Rimes said she knew, "This is guy I want to marry." The two wed in February of 2002. "Tears filled my eyes as soon as she walked in," remembered Sheremet.
The couple split in 2009 after Rimes admitted she had been cheating on him for months with actor Eddie Cibrian.
