Karen Julia Carney MBE (born 1 August 1987) is an English sports journalist and former professional footballer who played as a winger and midfielder for Chelsea, Birmingham City and the England national team. After making her senior international debut in 2005, Carney became the second most capped England player, making 144 appearances, including at the 2005, 2009, 2013 and 2017 European Championships and the World Cup in 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019. She also competed for the Great Britain team at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
