He also married on 15 Nov 1961, singer, dancer, Isabel Martinez Cartes and made her his vice-president. She was born, Maria Estela Martinez Cartes, 4 Feb 1931 in LaRioja, Argentina. She became the first female head of state in the Western Hemisphere when Juan died in 1974.
