John Logie Baird

Scottish engineer; first person to demonstrate a working television.

John Logie Baird (; 13 August 1888 – 14 June 1946) was a Scottish inventor, electrical engineer, and innovator, demonstrating the world's first working television system on 26 January 1926. He also invented the first publicly demonstrated colour television system, and the first purely electronic colour television picture tube.

John Logie Baird was born on Tuesday, 14 August 1888 in Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. He was best known as a business professional. Baird's country of citizenship (nationality) was Scottish. He died on Friday, 14 June 1946 in Bexhill, Sussex, England at the age of 57. He is buried at Baird family grave in Helensburgh Cemetery.
