Shortly after the ending of his relationship with Nina Dobrev, Somerhalder causally began hooking up with his former costar Malese Jow. It was said that the two where hooking up before Somerhalder began dating Dobrev but the relationship didn't last long.
It wasn't until after the second encounter did Jow admitt to the relationship on social media after declaring her love for him.
