  • The tavern that Galavant and King Richard drink at is named The Bottle Yard. This is named after the Bottleyard studios in Bristol, England, where the show is filmed.
  • Early screenings of the pilot and online teasers featured a verse in the title song with slightly different lyrics than those which appeared in the final broadcast version: "The man we're speaking of, he had a lady love, a total goddess known as Madalena. Long legs and glowing skin, a body built for sin, plus more than just a touch of nymphomania. Ah! Romance could hardly get much hotter - all day long he'd you-know-what her! Then they'd you-know-what again, three times or even ten! And she'd be screaming Galavant!"
  • The night that the series premiered, ABC aired two promos for that week's programs set to the tune of the Galavant theme song. The first (performed by series star Ben Presley) was for the Wednesday night ABC comedies Modern Family (2009), Black-ish (2014), The Middle (2009) and The Goldbergs (2013). The second, dubbed "The Bachelor: The Musical!," featured a stock chorus of singers.
  • This is not the first musical for Timothy Omundson, he previously appeared in the musical episode of Psych (where he was a regular). Galavant was renewed for a second season May 2015
  • Timothy Omundson based King Richard's voice on Peter Ustinov's Prince John from Robin Hood (1973).
