Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a 2014 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) and the ninth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay by the writing team of Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers / Captain America alongside Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp, Hayley Atwell, Robert Redford, and Samuel L. Jackson. In the film, Captain America joins forces with Black Widow and Falcon to uncover a conspiracy within the spy agency S.H.I.E.L.D. while facing a mysterious assassin known as the Winter Soldier.

- In the first fight between Captain America and Winter Soldier, if you play that scene in slow motion you can clearly see they are played by stunt doubles and not the principal actors.
- Garry Shandling: reprising his role as Senator Stern from Iron Man 2 (2010).
- When Cap and Romanoff use the secret elevator in the bunker, Cap uses his phone to detect the key code, and enters 8539. This is the date of Patriot #3, the comic book which originally introduced the character Captain America.
- When Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff encounter Zola's supercomputer, it identifies Natasha as being born in 1984 the same year as Scarlett Johansson who plays her.
- Emily VanCamp's former Everwood (2002) co-star Chris Pratt was cast as Peter Quill in the film Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), also based on a Marvel comic book in the same year.
