Between 2018 and 2019, she was cast in the recurring role of Stella Rose Buckley in the dark comedy-drama streaming television series Insatiable.
She wasn’t initially interested in being cast in National Lampoon’s Vacation as she was disenchanted with Hollywood. However, her husband was partially responsible for getting her interested in the role.
Beverly got her debut role in Woody Allen’s movie after his casting director had noticed her work in a Broadway production, Rockabye Hamlet.
Early in her acting career, she wasn’t completed committed to acting as it was a fallback option for her. She wanted to make it as a singer.

She brought to life the character of Ellen Priscilla Ruth Smith Griswold, the wife of Clark, in the 1997 comedy film Vegas Vacation, a role for which she was nominated for a Kids’ Choice Award for “Favorite Movie Actress”. She co-starred in the film alongside Chevy Chase, Randy Quaid, Wayne Newton, Ethan Embry, and Wallace Shawn.
At the age of 18, when she was starting her jazz singing career, she used to perform at a place called Zanzibar, which was essentially a topless bar. She used to perform from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
She started her acting career by doing theater work. Beverly made her professional acting debut with a 1986 Broadway production, Rockabye Hamlet, which was a musical adaptation of the iconic Hamlet play.
Before starting her acting career, she used to work as an illustrator at Hanna-Barbera Studios. She also toured Canada with the repertory company.

She comes from a show business family. Her father, Gene, was the General Manager of television station WBNS-TV, channel 10, in Columbus, Ohio.
