Because I was promoted as a sort of a siren and played all those sexy broads, people made the mistake of thinking I was like that off the screen. They couldn`t have been more wrong.
  • Ava loved music and was a talented singer, she was drawn to music and was even drawn to the piano. She could revel in any sort of music if it was good, she even peculiarly took to the song, "Nearer, My God, To Thee" in her youth. Before considering acting, she dreamed of singing lead in a big band.
  • Ava Gardner was a "night owl" or to put it nicer, "midnight blossom" she bloomed and shone in the night and was said to have an almost child-like aversion to going to bed.
  • Ava Gardner is truly an exotic beauty with ancestry stemming from African American, Native American and European roots.
  • Daughter-in-law of Joe Yule.
  • Was a good friend of Lena Horne, despite the fact that they both competed for the part of 'Julie' in Show Boat (1951).
