She moved to New York City in 2013 by way of Ann Arbor, Michigan where she was raised and graduated from the famed Musical Theatre program at The University of Michigan.

After making her Broadway debut in Broadway's Mamma Mia! (2014), Ashley starred as 'Tuptim' opposite Ken Watanabe, Kelli O'Hara, and Conrad Ricamora in the Tony-Award-winning Broadway revival of The King And I (2015-2016) at New York's Lincoln Center. With this company, she performed on the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade (NBC) and the Tony Awards (CBS). She then won a role in Broadway's Sunday In The Park With George (2017) starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Annaleigh Ashford while filming the second season of "Nightcap" (Pop TV/ Lionsgate/ Dakota Pictures)
