In 1990, de Cadenet began dating bassist John Taylor of Duran Duran. They married in late 1991 because she was pregnant, and de Cadenet gave birth to their daughter, Atlanta, in April 1992. They then moved to Los Angeles to allow de Cadenet to pursue her acting career.
She became friends with Courtney Love; the two appeared at an awards show together wearing matching dresses and tiaras. By 1995, de Cadenet's marriage was beginning to disintegrate and her divorce from Taylor was finalized in 1997.
