Nearly five months after the tragic death of ‘Fast and Furious’ star Paul Walker, his long-time girlfriend, Jasmine Pilchard Gosnell, is still struggling to cope with life without him.
‘I walk the streets of one,' Jasmine was quoted in a Facebook post recently, along with a photo of the melancholy blonde as she took her family’s dog for a quiet stroll.
And in an exclusive interview with the MailOnline, Jasmine’s father reveals that his beautiful, 23-year-old daughter is now in therapy to try to mend her broken heart.‘I have her in grief counseling,’ said Casey Gosnell, 47, who is providing a secluded refuge for Jasmine at the family’s home in Goleta, California, some 120 miles north of Los Angeles.
‘You have to understand that she is still terribly wounded by Paul’s death and will be for a long time,’ explained Casey Gosnell.
Jasmine has been too devastated to talk publicly about Walker’s horrific death at age 40 in a high-speed car crash in Santa Clarita, California last November,
In an earlier Facebook entry, she is quoted as saying: 'Every day, in some small way, memories of you come our way. Though absent, you are ever near, still missed, still I will always love you. Rest in Peace. Love....' She remains close with Paul's brother Caleb and Cody.
Universal Pictures, whose movie, ‘Fast & Furious 7’ was being filmed at the time of Walker’s death, have announced that the two brothers will appear in the car racing flick, completing some action scenes the late actor never got to finish.
Jasmine’s dad, who runs a landscape gardening business in Goleta and nearby Santa Barbara, is fiercely protective of his emotionally fragile daughter.
‘Maybe one day she’ll be ready to talk about Paul but she’s not there yet,’ he added
She’s trying to deal with her loss - it’s been very hard for her. But she has her family and we’re trying to help and support her as much as we can.’
Relatives have revealed to MailOnline that the 23-year-old student has also been spending a lot of time with her mother, Julie Pilchard, in nearby Santa Barbara, as she struggles to come to terms with the passing of the man with whom she was planning to build a future.
Jasmine was only 16 when she met handsome Walker - who was 33 at the time.
Their passionate love affair lasted seven years and at the time of Paul’s death they were living together in Los Angeles where Jasmine happily took on the role of step-mom to Paul’s daughter, Meadow, now 15, and, reportedly, the sole heir to her father’s estimated $16 million estate
After Paul was killed, a distraught Jasmine headed for the support and protection of her family in Goleta where she grew up and where she’s now trying to put her shattered life back together.
Her grandmother, Theresa Gosnell - who also lives in Goleta and works at the family landscaping business - sighed and shook her head sadly when asked how Jasmine is coping.
‘She’s doing the best that she can - it’s been very tough on her,” Theresa, 68, told MailOnline. 'But she’s home now with her family, the people who love her. Home is where she needs to be right now.'
